Blogs

I love reading other people's blogs. I can waste...I mean spend at least an hour just reading posts and hopping to the next blog. I never knew that I knew so many interesting people! Everyone has something clever to say. It's amazing.

Song of Solomon 2:11

For lo, the winter is past... Unfortuantely the rain has only begun, but who cares!
Spring has sprung. The grass is looking a bit green. I don't have to wear 13 layers of clothing anymore! Hurray! I think I'll go for a walk.

Does your skin crawl sometimes?

Do you ever have those times where you constantly feel uncomfortable? Your heart can't settle, your mind won't be at peace, your body aches and even your skin may crawl. It's not that dramatic all of the time, but you aren't ever very comfortable in any way. This can go on for weeks and weeks until you just begin to get used to not totally resting.

Well yay for me I think that I am coming out of this time. I had almost forgotten that I was not settled in my own skin because I was becoming so accustomed to it. I am thankful for those times. They help build character in me. Do I trust God in the midst of it or do I let my heart despair? Do I continue to be faithful to things I know I should be or do I bail on life? I definitely blow it...sometimes more often than not, but I think that God has been giving me opportunities to grow. Those times stink, but I think I may be learning to like them. They seem to make my life a bit like a rubics cube.

It is actually quite strange to me that I am feeling this way. I am at a place where I don't have much short term vision for my life, I'm still getting settled back into Cincinnati and I'm not quite sure what I will do or commit myself to in the near future.

All of this to say that I am so thankful that I am feeling comfortable in my own skin for a change.

Ch Ch Ch Changes

Well I'm getting settled back in Cincinnati pretty well. I've been gone from California for about a month and a week. I have moved several times in the past few years. You'd think that it would get easier, and maybe in some ways it does, but for some reason change is a bit painful for me. I don't like the feeling of unfamiliarity and resettling. I miss my apartment, I miss the beach, I miss the produce, I miss Spirit Seekers and Josh singing the girls choruses of songs, but most of all I miss my dearest friends. I miss my Tuesday night family, I miss Jocelyn, and I miss Sean!
But...now I have my family near, and right now that is more important to me. Little Ava is growing a little every day. My Grampa is home from the hospital. I love living with Mark and Angela. I love Cincinnati and really I am very happy about being back.... SO.... why can't I have the best of both worlds??

This is November?

The weather has been so beautiful here! It was up in the 80s today. I was driving to the beach when Christmas music came in the radio.

Dark Water to Match My Mood

I went to a friends Birthday celebration at Salt Creek yesterday. It was a hot beautiful day, but it cooled down significantly after about 4:00. The water changed colors. It was beautiful blue green. It turned to gray as the temperature went down. It was a very strange thing to watch. The sea is such a fascinating thing to me. I am learning so much from it. It is strange to think that one day it won't be on the Earth anymore.

I have been sad for the past few days. Everything is hard right now. Work is hard, things at my house are hard, relationships with friends is hard, being away from my family is hard. I'm not sure how much of this I can really handle. I really miss my sisters. I really miss my friends. I miss familiarity. If this dark cloud doesn't end soon I may have to bail. That would be a shame.

It's like the first night of Alpha every meeting

I'm a meeting planner. I always expected that it would be great fun to be a meeting planner. I did some event planning with Randy and Christine at the Vineyard. We would work our tails off and make the first night of Alpha a breeze. Well it may have looked like a breeze, BUT IT WASN'T! Now I'm doing something similar every week with a new group of people each time, and NO RANDY AND CHRISTINE! How did this happen?

Hey friends...come play...lets put people at table according to weight and height.

I Feel SO Much Better

Last weekend was bad. I had to go to the ER. They thought they might want to take my appendix out. Anytime someone wants to cut out part of my body I figure it's bad news. I would really like to keep all my guts thank you!

SO....I'm feeling much better now, and I still have my appendix. A lot of prayer and a lot of rest go a long way. :)

Living in California is still great. Andrea, Jocelyn and I move in to our new home on Sunday. It should be great fun. You should come visit!!

Ummm...

Okay, I'm not a very good blogger. It has been WAY too long since the last post that I made for me to feel confident in giving this address to anyone. Ha!

But if you are reading here's what's been happening.

1) I drove a REALLY LONG way. I got in the car with all my stuff and drove to 92677. That's right. I'm sure you guessed it...Laguna Niguel, CA

2) I got a job! I work for Van Wiede Group, INC. We manage non-profit agencies. I do their event/meeting planning. It's in Laguna Hills, which is not too far from home.

3) I signed a lease! Wow...I know that makes it sound like I might be an adult, but please do not be mistaken. I am only a girl, but at the moment I am a girl with a great tan and that would be because of #4.

4) I spend as much time as possible at the beach. I spend the weekends and evenings there. My favorite thing to do is watch the sun set at Salt Creek Beach.

I am SO happy to be living in California.

Somewhat Exciting News

As most of you know, when you move you have to find two very important things that make moving oh so much easier to do.

1) A place to rest your head.
2) A place to make the dough, so you can pay for the place to rest your head.

Both of these things are essential, but not the easiest to do when you aren't there yet! The good thing, I have friends there who won't let me go homeless or hungry, so I'm not too worried about it. I will be a bit happier when I have both of these things nailed down.

Today I got good news. Some friends of mine are moving out of their apartment, so it will be available soon. It is in Dana Point, is a darn good price, and is month to month rent! I would be happy to secure #1 on the list, but I don't feel so confident in doing it until I have #2 secured. I guess that's not going to be an option tonight, and I need to move pretty fast if I'm going to take care of #1 right now. If God supernaturally gives me the cash for the first month and deposit then I'll count it a done deal.

So that's my somewhat exciting news for today.

Moving Stinks! (sometimes)

Right now I'm in the process of moving. I'm heading as far west as possible without jumping in the Pacific Ocean, but I will be able to jump into it as much as a darn well please. In less than a month I'll be calling southern California home. Yipee!

Well yipee would be nice, but unfortunately yipee is not always the sentiment. Right now I'm in the process of getting my resume polished and finding a job. One minute I'm like..I rock! I'm going to find a great paying job because I ROCK! The next I think....This sucks! I'm like 14. What the heck am I doing? I'm not qualified for any of these jobs!

So at the moment moving stinks, but just give me a few. :)
