Beautiful California...Girls
Angie and Ava Came to Visit!!
Photo Updates
Sean and I went to Catalina Island. We had the best time. The long weekend came at JUST the right time! We were in the midst of some very stressful situations and Catalina was the perfect distraction. Beautiful gardens, great trails, lazy mornings and okay food.
On our boat trip over we saw THOUSANDS of dolphis! It was quite an experience.

Rough Life in the SoCal
I am sitting in my pjs looking out the window(I'm still recovering from the funk). I looked at weather.com and I saw the good news...it is 78 degrees outside at this very moment! Sadly it will only get up to 77 tomorrow. Best wishes to my friends in the midwest. I miss you, but I do not miss your weather.

Sick Days
Before it was health days, but this time it was definitely SICK DAYS! Yesterday I slept 16 hour. Today I slept at least 14. I think it got the cooties from Christina. This is what I've learned...there's nothing good on tv, you can buy anything on craigslist and sunshine DOES make you feel better. We are supposed to have dinner guests tommorow. I hope I feel better by then.

For the past few weeks Sean and I have been eating a few coconuts a week. Surprisingly, you can make a variety of things with a raw young coconut. The only problem with this wonderful fruit is it can be difficult to find. Occasionally Whole Foods will have a few, but even then they cost too much. Today we made a wonderful discovery. An Asian market not too far from our house has them for $1.09!! AND they had lots of them! We stopped by there when we were on the motorcycle so we could only take what would fit in my back pack. If we could have we would have purchased a case. Thank the Lord for Maruki Ranch 98!

Set-up for Deception
Tonight I have been reading some notes from an EGS I was in last summer. Reading them has left me in a very sober state. I think that every day I am seeing more and more Christians set-up for deception. I see so many New Age ideas slipping their way into so many Christians lives. I see it and I read it on so many church websites and Christian blogs all over the internet. "It's okay to live this lifestyle." "Wouldn't Jesus just accept people for who they are?" "These classes won't be a problem for you as long as you don't get too caught up in them." I find merging popular ideas like these to be so dangerous. I think I can understand why the church is buying into this, and it hurts my heart. I have known that the majority of the body of Christ is not seeing clearly and not discerning, but now I am seeing it with my own eyes almost every day. She is selling her self for New Age theology, the idea of peace and wealth. It creeps in little by little until it's taken over.
The only solution I see (for myself at least) is to stay very very low. The fear of the Lord should be my best friend right now.I need to keep my spirit in a state of prayer. I know He loves me. I know He wants to preserve me, but I want to keep things out that would keep His Spirit away. Faithfulness now is going to matter later. Purity of heart now is going to matter in the future.

Silence
Israel has a dance class tonight, so Sean had to take her. I wanted some time to myself, so Sean took Judah. I'm all alone in the house and it's quiet!! Yay!

Friday's with Izzy
Israel is giving Rachel Ray a run for her money! The other night Israel announced that she would like to make dinner, and make dinner she did! Sean took her to the store so she could get the necessary ingredients, and she cooked away. As a family we decided that she will make dinner every Friday night until she goes to college. May she reconsider continuing her education.
The good news is YOU are invited! Just let me know before you show up at the dinner table.

Better Late than Never
Here's the link to our wedding photos. Some of them aren't organized, because I haven't upgraded to a pro account. Not impressed? Well I'm not too impressed with them either.

The Blessing of Modern Technology
I'm sitting on my couch in Torrance, California watching the One Thing Conference. The only thing better than this is acutally being there. Being so far away from KC and really anyone (other than Sean) who is interested in talking about God has been a little bit more of a challenge than I expected. I'm so thankful for God TV and for IHOP.

American Car Rental Company
Yesterday Sean asked me if I would run an errand with him. He had a 6:30 meeting at an office in LAX. Something about a rental car company. At first I thought what a great time I would have with the house to myself. I could clean. I could watch whatever I wanted on tv. I could do nothing at all in complete silence! But he asked if I would go, along so along I went.
When we get to PCH there was a bit more traffic than we expected, so we were running a bit behind. We finally get there and park at terminal one by baggage claim. Have you ever seen a rental car office in terminal one at LAX? Anyone??
We run all around terminal one...no office. He calls the lady he's supposed to meet with and I hear someone behind me answer "American Car Rental Company".
Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky! Did you know that Christina Ortega worked for American Car Rental Company? Me neither.

It was such a wonderful suprise! I got to pick Christina up from the airport, have dinner with her and take her to her family in Orange County. I am SOOO happy that I got to see her and spend a little bit of time with her! I love you Tina!
